Gretchen J. Burgess
Gretchen Burgess joined Carney Thorpe in 2020. Her practice focuses primarily on estate planning, farm succession, real estate transactions, business matters, and contract law. She was recently in solo practice. She is licensed in Wisconsin and Minnesota.
Mrs. Burgess graduated from Macalester College in 2002 with a degree in Japanese and Hamline University School of Law in 2005 with a focus on International Law. A Minnesota native, she lived in Tokyo, Japan and San Francisco, California prior to moving to Wisconsin.
Mrs. Burgess serves as president of the board of Big Brothers Big Sisters of South Central Wisconsin. In addition, she serves on the boards for the Blackhawk Technical College Foundation, Rotary Botanical Gardens, and CASA of Rock County. She lives in Whitewater with her husband and children.
In her free time, Mrs. Burgess is a figure skating coach with the Janesville Figure Skating Club and enjoys making custom decorated sugar cookies and tumblers.
